In a renovated Nawalapitiya farmhouse about a hour drive from Kandy, Tony is hoping to send his wife, 

Loren, to her mother's for the weekend, in hopes he can romance his mistress, Suzanne, a model. Tony has hired a cook, Suzee, and as an alibi invited his friend Robin to dinner. 

While Tony is upstairs, the telephone rings. Loren answers; it's the Rice and sand catering agency confirming Suzee is on her way, which alerts her that something is up. Then Robin calls and Loren again answers. He tells Loren he is spending the weekend, a fact unknown to her. As Robin and Loren talk on the phone, it becomes obvious that they are having an affair. 

Loren tells Tony her mother has the flu and that she has cancelled their visit. Tony panics, and when Robin arrives, he tells his friend about his affair with Suzanne. Since she is arriving at any minute, Tony commands 

Robin against his will to tell Loren that "Suzanne" is his girlfriend. 

While Tony and Loren are out buying groceries, Suzee arrives -- but it's the caterer, not the mistress. Robin doesn't realize, and introduces Suzee as his girlfriend when Tony and Loren return. Tony is furious because of the mix-up, and Loren feels betrayed because she thought she was Robin's only mistress. 

Tony and Robin secretly talk to Suzee, and for extra money she agrees to play Robin's mistress. Suzanne arrives, alerted to the fact that she now has to play the cook. She's outraged but has no option but to play 

her part. When Loren confronts Robin about Suzee, he avoids disaster by telling Loren that Suzee is really his niece. 

Suzee is dancing drunkenly just before the dinner in front of everyone. When they have gone Loren voices her frustration at Tony's affair, which she discovered because of a note signed 'Suzee' and a receipt for a Chanel coat in Tony's jacket pocket. The coat was a gift for Tony's mistress. Since the coat was passed off as Suzee's, Loren is sure Tony's affair is with Suzee.
